A century of romance. One of the last shows ever to grace the stage of the legendary Todo Con Nada, this love letter to the 20th century became a personal favorite of the DM company. From ragtime to techno.
From Lower East Side tenements to Fifth Avenue penthouses.
From lust to love and back again.
A sweeping romance both epic in scope and heartrendingly intimate,
this sprawling record of our recent past melds pop culture, sex, and
history in a whirlwind tour of the Twentieth Century’s highest and
lowest moments. Adapted
freely from Arthur Schnitzler’s legendary “La Ronde”, Twenty
traces the history of eleven men and women from various walks of life, as
they fall in and out of love, bed, and time.
Fact and fiction blend seamlessly in this steamy, intimate, emotionally
charged piece as six actors bring to life ghostly starcrossed romantics,
each of whom is seen in their most vulnerable moments, confessing their
desires, their hopes and dreams, and fears to their cherished lovers.
Moving, funny, unnerving, unsparingly honest, each scene captures
an instant in the life of the fastest, largest, most frightening, most
intriguing hundred years in recorded times. A melancholy farewell to one of New York Theater's most important stages, and a heartbreaking remembrance of a century that already seems light years away...
